Tell Me Tell Me

Listen To A Sample

Why did you do it.
Take my heart and make it yours,
For the breaking.
Now I’m aching ‘cuz of you.

Chorus:
Tell me tell me why’d you do it,
Why did you go and put me through it.
Tell me tell me was he/she/it good for you.
If there wasn’t nothin to it,
Why did you go ahead and do it,
Tell me tell me was it worth you losing me?

Verse 2:
Why did you do it,
To a love so strong it burned,
With belonging.
My longing was for you.

Chorus:
Tell me tell me why’d you do it,
Why did you go and put me through it.
Tell me tell me was he/she/it good for you.
If there wasn’t nothin to it,
Why did you go ahead and do it,
Tell me tell me was it worth you losing me?

Bridge:
It is over,
I’m through with you.
There’s just one thing,
For you to do.

(Chorus)

Girl

Listen to A Sample

I’m sorry things ain’t going how we hoped to.
I guess I’m not the man you thought I’d be.
Although my heart is true,
I can’t be everything to you,
Till I find out,
How to make the best of me.

I’m sorry if you think that I don’t love you,
For causing tears to well up in your eyes.
For all the things that I must do,
That are so unfair to you I know,
But there doesn’t seem to be,
A compromise.

I’m driven by a need to do,
The things that I love most,
Aside of making love to you,
And taking walks along the coast,
I want to find out for myself,
Where I fit into this world,
And when I learn to be myself,
Then I’ll learn….. to love you girl,
To love you girl,
To love you girl.

repeat last part.

Soul Of An Ancient

Listen to A Sample

Where did you come from,
How’d we get here?
It feels like I’ve known you,
For all of my years.

So much in common,
So far apart.
In spite of the distance,
You’ve slipped into my heart.

Talking for hours,
How the time does fly,
Caught in the rapture,
Of what’s behind your eyes.

How can you be what you are,
When you’re only 17.
I think you’re amazing,
From everything I’ve seen.

Chorus
You have the soul of an ancient,
I’ve been with you before.
This can’t be the first time,
I’ve walked you to your door,
I’ve lived a lifetime in your kisses,
A thousand years in your embrace,
I can’t believe the things I see,
In the beauty of your souls familiar face.

Where do we go now,
Now that we’re here?
I wish I could hold you,
For all of my years.
Is this just a crossroads,
Where we touch then onward bound,
If I can’t have you this time,
I’ll take the next lifetime around.

(Chorus)

Stand Tough

Listen To A Sample

Darkness falls on city streets,
Danger lurks and evil greets,
The one by chance that happens to be near.
The tough guys young and angry who,
Must prove themselves by hurting you,
Hungry vultures feeding on your fear.
And when you think you’ve had enough,
Of the dealers selling deadly stuff,
On the corners and the school yards where you live.
The prostitutes and petty thief so bold you stare in disbelief,
You’ve got to know there’s no alternative.
You’ve got to,

Chorus:
Stand tough.
Stand up and fight.
Don’t let the bad guys beat you down,
Don’t give up this hallowed ground.
Stand Tough.
With all of your might.
Collective wills are stronger than,
The evil wrought throughout this land.
Stand Tough.
And fight for your rights.
We all know what must be done,
Lets stand tough and fight as one,
We’ve got to fight until we’ve won.

Verse 2:
Time goes by the waste goes on,
The beaurocrats at the pentagon,
They’re spending more for less and less each year.
Politicians taking our prosperity their greed devours,
So much the hopes of many disappear.
We find it hard to understand,
The billions spent in foreign lands,
To save the starving masses where they live.
While back at home we just deny,
Our hungry hordes their babies’ cries,
A sad domestic plan we can’t forgive.
We’ve got to,

Chorus, repeat, end.

First Impressions

Listen To A Sample

Good times and laughter,
Romance in the air,
Presenting best behavior,
Putting on the aires.

What was it about her,
That seemed so right for you,
What was as it about him,
That caught you looking too.

Chorus:

First Impressions,
Not always what they seem.
What I do to catch your eye,
Is not necessarily me.
First Impressions,
I’ll hit you with my charms,
Just long enough to get you close,
And to wrap you in my arms.

Verse2:

A silent conversation,
Chemistry or love,
Pure infatuation,
Or none of the above.

What was it you looked for,
Made you think that I’m the one,
‘Cause I’m not what you’re looking for,
I just want to have some fun.

(Chorus:)

(Repeat verse 1:)

(Chorus:)

Chorus II:

First Impressions,
Lover you better beware,
Cause you might see something in me,
That you like but just ain’t there.
First Impressions,
I can be what you want me to be,
Just long enough to win your love,
And to take you home with me.

I’ll Play for You

Listen To A Sample

One day in 1989,
I came across a man.
He lived on 42nd street,
Shaking a tin can.
He looked at me with pleading eyes,
One was black and blue,
He said son could you spare a dime or two.

Well I fished through all my pockets,
Though I knew that I was broke,
I offered him a my cigarettes,
He said thanks but I don’t smoke,
I said, I’m sorry that you’re hurting
There’s not much I can do,
You see I’ve got no money,
But I’ll play for you.

Refrain:
‘Cuz I’ve got me this old six string,
And a head stuffed full of songs
I know there’s one among them,
You could sing along.
I know Operator, Yesterday or Rocket Man,
How ’bout City of New Orleans or Piano Man.
We could sing Cats in the Cradle,
We could sing of Fire and Rain,
Whatever makes you feel good,
Whatever soothes the pain.
Singin lie die die die da die

Verse 2

Now I’m standing in Grand central,
I play for passers by.
A few have stopped to listen,
But one man caught my eye.
He said here is twenty dollars,
From someone I used to be,
You didn’t have no money,
But you played for me.

Refrain 2:
I see you’ve still got that six string,
And your head’s still full of songs,
I know there’s some among them,
That I could sing along.
Play Operator, Yesterday or Rocket Man,
How ’bout City of New Orleans or Piano Man.
Could you sing Cats in the Cradle,
Could you sing of Fire and Rain,
They still make me feel good,
They still ease the pain.
Singin lie die die die da die

Refrain:
I’ve got me this old six string,
And a head stuffed full of songs
I know there’s one among them,
You could sing along.
I know Operator, Yesterday or Rocket Man,
How ’bout City of New Orleans or Piano Man.
We could sing Cats in the Cradle,
We could sing of Fire and Rain,
It always makes me feel good,
The music soothes the pain.
Singin lie die die die da die.

Walk the Heavens

Listen To A Sample

Once there was a young man.
Going to school and trying to fit in,
When he didn’t wear the coolest clothes,
Didn’t have a perfect nose,
He wasn’t any good with girls,
Though one did set his heart awhirl.
He Didn’t swim or run to fast,
He always seemed to come in last,

One day he’d had enough,

He went and found a place to hide,
Sat down on a crate,

Behind the lunch room and he cried.
When an old man came upon him,

With a frown upon his face,
He sat down right beside him and he said….

Chorus
As we make our way through all the years,
Fighting to hold back the tears,
That fill our eyes and wash our joys away.
By wishing we were someone else,
We constantly deny ourselves,
The chance to become all that we could be.
Whether rich man poor man beggar man or thief,
We all have the right to choose ‘tween happiness and grief,
If you leave it in the hands of fate,
You’ll end up at the pearly gates,
A bitter soul whose life has been denied.
So take a chance and be unique,
Find that inner joy you seek,
And you will walk the heavens filled with pride.

2nd Verse
He went on to tell of
Many tales he knew of life and love.
How he’d become a champion,
Because he didn’t quite fit in,
The early age he had to fight,
For differences of black and white,
Had taught him how to look inside,
His heart to find the peace of pride.

When he’d finished speaking,

He got up from where they sat,
Helped the young man to his feet,

And gave his head a little pat.
He worked in the lunchroom,

Always there to do his part,
That day he fed this young mans hungry heart.

(Chorus)
End

Somewhere in Time

Listen To A Sample

Somewhere in time,
I will find you and then,
I can love you again,
Like I did way back when,
In time.

Somewhere in time,
I will look in your eyes,
Feel the warmth of your hands,
Hear the sound of your sighs,
In time.

Somewhere in time,
Just the sound of a voice,
Makes me linger and look,
For a glimpse of your face,
In time.

How can I find a way back to that place,
I just close my eyes and I trey to retrace,
The moments the minutes the hours the years,
Till I’m blind from the tears.

Somewhere in time,
I will hold you again,
Feel your flesh press to mine,
Feel your breathe on my skin,
In time.

Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell

Listen To A Sample

Real love,
Hearts on fire,
Heat up the night,
With the purest desire.
This love that we’re feeling,
Is fleeting at best.
It can go from hot to freezing,
Like a demon possessed.

Chorus:
Somewhere between heaven and hell,
We never know where from day to day.
This love affair as far as I can tell,
Is somewhere between heaven and hell.

Verse 2:
Passing the time,
Counting the moments,
Passions decline,
Along with the innocence.
Though battles are frequent,
Making up can be bliss,
If you try to stop the bleeding,
With the warmth of a kiss.

(Chorus:)

Bridge:
Love is a pleasure,
Love is a pain.
One persons loss,
Is another ones gain.
All is fair in war and love.
As long as you’re there,
You know you’re going to end up.

(Chorus:)
End.

Everything I Do

Listen To A Sample

You and I could go back to the days,
When loving came so naturally.
You and I could go back to the ways,
That our innocence allowed us to be.

I remember the day how could I ever forget,
That special time when we first met,
In the high school hall with your hair all wet,
I loved you girl my heart was set on you.

Through the times we shared

We both learned a lot,
About how it felt

To have loved and to have fought.
Through the pain of seperation,

We watched our love grow stronger,
But against the test of time it seems

That we could wait no longer.
Since then I’ve lived and I’ve lied,
I’ve laughed and I’ve cried.
There’s a little bit of you,
In everything I do.

Oh you know that I couldn’t live like this forever,
With harboured hopes for you and me.
All I need to hear is a simple yes or never,
To bring me home or set me free.
For you I’d live and I’d die,
I love you and that’s why.
There’s a little bit of you,
In everything I do.

You and I should go back to the days,
When loving came so naturally.
You and I should go back to the ways,
That our innocence allowed us to be.
For you I’d live and I’d die,
I love you and that’s why.
There’s a little bit of you,
In everything I do.
