A Van Named Moby, a Show Called Being Jonas Wilder, and What We’re Building Together

There is an epic journey in the making! The article below is on The Creative Humanity Alliance website. Long story short, my friend of almost 30 years Kate Downie, one of the most vital women I’ve ever known parked her Mercedes sprinter Van in Los Angeles almost 18 months ago believing she be back in a week. She was struck down by long Covid and is never been able to return. I’m going on a mission to rescue Moby from Los Angeles and drive him back across the country, visiting 12 cities on the way and hopefully performing Being Jonas Wilder while building the Alliance. Please read the article below, we need your help lining up some living rooms, libraries, and bookstores, wherever you have a connection.

A Van Named Moby, a Show Called Being Jonas Wilder, and What We’re Building Together Share Tweet Why This Road Trip Is an Alliance Story The Creative Humanity Alliance exists because creativity is not a luxury. It is a survival mechanism — one the modern world has systematically devalued, isolated, and left stranded. We bring together the people who make things and the people who need things made, not as an industry, but as a community with a shared stake in what humans can do when they create with intention. This spring, that mission gets a road trip. And the road trip starts with a rescue. Moby and Kathryn Downie There is a silver Mercedes Sprinter van named Moby sitting in a parking lot in Los Angeles. He’s a fully self-contained, off-grid capable home on wheels. He belongs to Kathryn Downie — a master yoga instructor, working actress, solo mountaineer, and wilderness adventure trip leader who has spent her life leading others into the places that change them.
